One important field of CYLAND’s activity is conducting educational events, master classes and internships for students and young specialists.

Participants of internship programs are given the opportunity to study under experts from the media laboratory – curators, artists and engineers, to acquire knowledge, skills and work experience in the art world.

In 2020, CYLAND interns were students from the School of Advanced Studies of the University of Tyumen, the HSE Art and Design School, the PRO ARTE School for Young Artists, and ITMO University.

As part of the 2020 internships, students learnt about the areas of CYLAND’s work, attended lectures, carried out studies, worked with audio and video archives of the laboratory, wrote critical and analytical texts, studied contemporary media art and took part in preparing projects.

Specially for participants of the PRO Arte School for Young Artists, curators and artists at CYLAND developed and held 2 education courses, and conducted a series of master classes and project reviews.

After they completed the December internship, the students from the School of Advanced Studies of the University of Tyumen and the HSE Art and Design School wrote essays about the archiving, storage and exhibition of media art.
