Starting September 13 at Phoenix Brighton (UK), Brighton Digital Festival is a month-long exploration of digital culture. The festival celebrates the richness of the creative and cultural industries in our city and explores the ways in which digital technology continues to shape our lives and our thinking.
As the fastest growing digital festival in the UK, with an audience of more than 60,000 in 2016 for 190+ events and a far-reaching reputation, Brighton Digital Festival is a vehicle for social change.
Partnering with the Lumen Prize, CYLAND MediaArtLab is bringing two new artworks by Anna Frants and Elena Gubanova and Ivan Govorkov to one of the festival’s flagship exhibitions. Uncommon Natures, has been curated by festival director Laurence Hill from works shortlisted for this year’s Lumen Prize for Digital Art competition.
With the help of new technologies, the installations “Wind of Changes” by Elena Gubanova and Ivan Govorkov and “Dissident” by Anna Frants reflect on a political turmoil and perplexity of recent times. Both project will debut at Brighton Digital Festival alongside the Lumen Prize artists.
Exhibiting artists: Sandra Crisp, Nye Thompson, ACCI BABA, Maeve Rendle, Jason Rouse, Jake Elwes and Karolina Ziulkoski, Cesar and Lois (League of Imaginary Scientists), Irina Zadorozhnaia and Mark Lyons, Anna Frants.
